The link is not obvious to find and after spending about 20 minutes looking I still can't see the bloody thing.

It's interesting how some people cant see this and probably reflects the way in which different people use software.

The link is in the main menu bar which is a common feature of a lot of applications that have been developed for windows. For this application the menu bar is also show at the top of the page on Android unlike some web pages developed solely for Android  ( I have no experience of IOS so cant comment). 

Most web pages  on windows and android make it very easy to search for something.
On windows it Ctrl + F, on android click on the menu Icon (upper right hand corner on my devices might be elsewhere on other android versions) and select "find on page". 
type  "photo" and on windows or android the link is the first thing highlighted.

Since you can set the forum only view, links in the home index main page can be hard to be viewed...

Well, on Chrome it is obvious!

Since you can set the forum only view, links in the home index main page can be hard to be viewed...

You do not have to be on homepage to see it!
