Colle della Assietta ; Italy - 2472 m osl - 4504'13.4"N  657'25.2"E

a lot of others done during the trip

"Along the ridge that gathers Pian dell Alpe to Sestriere separating Chisone Valley from Susa Valley, the Assietta Road - a military carriageway - unfolds for over 60 km, almost entirely over 2000 meters above the sea level.
Travelling on the Assietta road offers a unique chance to discover some of the most significant historical landmarks of one of the most striking corner of Western Alps.

Oberalppas which has a funny lighthouse on the top! (Anyone knows why they have lighthouse there?)

@Jirky: you've decided to mount trekker the right way ?!!  ;D

@Ursula : It is a replica of an old lighthouse of the Rhine delta, because it is at the source of the Rhine.

I often place my locks at the front when riding gravel as less mud and craps gets on the pannier locks that way. The only issue is the lids open the wrong way and won't stay open due to the rising angle of the bike towards the back.

Either way, I periodically put oil in the locks otherwise they eventually get stiff.
