Crosstourer 2014 tested
« on: March 08, 2014, 17:17:51 »
I had one hour pleasant ride under sun here in France. Bike was nice, automatic gears funny but was missing the wind protection of Vara.

Are the bikes so different or am I just getting old? :o

Small screen doesn't offer any protection and big one is not as good as a MRA on the Dero ;D
Don't you want to see us on our meeting?

I've ridden a range of big adventure bikes now and they all seem to have the small screens, although they are adjustable on the Multistrada and the KTM 1190.  I like the Crosstourer on tarmac, a nice bike, but the KTM 1190 is an excellent tarmac and capable gravel runner and it is a lot lighter than the CT.  Cheers from downunder...

I love the way how a rider can adjust the screen on the big Triumph Tiger Adventurer.

Its simply, bloody brilliant through its simplicity.

I can't understand why no other manufacturer (especially the Japanese who have been the brightest kids in the class for so long) has come up with something simple as Triumph...

No... At a Honda you will have your adjustable screen... But only if you carry your toolbox with you...  >:(

I was wondering the same thing lately and i conclude  that Triumph makes a production by thinking first the needs of the motorbikers and then how it will place it  on the motorbike , by using the easiest way in order to make the motorbiker adjust the windscreen for instance faster and easiest .On the other hand there is Honda who obviously produces by giving priority how to place the product  on  motorbike, and then what is  the needs of a motorbiker. If you can carry tools and you are able to use them you are ok .... if you are not then im really sorry my friend but you are obliged to visit a mechanic in order to solve your problem ,for instance to adjust your windscreen.  :o

Don't think screen adjustment is really a problem ... How much time have you adjusted it on your bike ??? For me , it's only one time on the beginning; I can certainly take a screwdriver  ;)

I'm just sorting out a test ride on the CT for the next few days, but honestly think the XT1200Z will be what I eventually buy. It's the nearest to the Vara but with the best of the updates.

I think exactly the same thing; have to see then the commercial conditions ...  ::)
