Considering V(C)IM#17 will be in France and some of you are interested in finding us in french meeting , before going to VIM site; I've opened another post you can refer, to place your preferred choice.

The French meeting will take place in Normandy (NW of France).

We had our General Members Assembly from the Dutch Varadero & Transalpclub yesterday. There are several of our members who like the idea of visiting the French meeting previous to VIM#17 in Normandy... It is not that far for us!  ;D

Looking forward for all further details. Keep up the good work!

And it's not like that once a cold country and once warm?
This year, VCIM16 in Norway, and it was said that VCIM17 will be in the South of France.
Where heat.

VIM#17 will be not exactly in South (for me  ;D ) but just over; we stay much time between 500 and 1600 m high; so not to warm ...
But for those who want before or after, Mediterranean sea is not too far  ;)

We attended the 10th Varaderomania annual meeting in France last weekend. This time it was in Normandy and the main organisers were Didier, Pascale and Sebastien. This is the sixth meeting of theirs that we have attended. It is a superb group of people who come together each year in different parts of France and guided by the main man, Le Chef, Jacques Segret. I asked if I could attend a few years ago and Le Chef said yes. At first, some thought that we were spies for VIM. In particular, Alain thinks that the English should stay in England. But I think we have shown that we love this group of crazy French people. My French language has improved year by year and our friendship with many of the people has also grown. This year we were in Normandy, as Didier lives close by and he knows the area well. He had organised many surprises for us, perhaps the most amazing was a visit to an American Indian theme park, with teepees scattered around the site and a huge restaurant decorated with Wild West ephemera. We were all invited to climb aboard two trucks, where we were driven across the rough landscape to an area where we saw bison in the field. The guy who was leading the tour was an absolute comedian. I was crying with laughter - and I don't speak much French. His description of the mating habits, the sexual organs, the courting process, etc. was a scream. The absolute peak to this was seeing a baby bison being born. Quite by chance of course. I will be writing my usual report in due course, with pictures (I have no idea how to post pictures on this site). We had two excellent days riding around the region and we enjoyed good food, good craic, and a bit of drinking. This part of France is truly beautiful. We have been used to being the only two English people but this time we had two Vikings with us. Erik and Ann-Gro from Norway. Whilst the meeting is pure French, they make sure that we fully understand what is going on. I stress that this is a FRENCH meeting and not Anglo-French. French is the language and French are the activities. We love it!
