« on: May 23, 2013, 23:12:50 »
Dear friends,

I have a problem with my side stand switch or the switches following it till the ecu. sometimes the engine does not start although the stand is up.
have you ever encountered such a problem and what is the solution.? By the way I have replaced the switch with a brand new one.

thanks in advance.

What makes you think that the problem is the side stand switch ?

There are other things that will prevent the bike from starting !

Mithat,

Please lets us know what year your Dero was build. There have been 'side stand safety switch' issieus in the past; and there was even an official recall from Honda in 2004 to replace this item!

Dear Friends,

My Dero is 2011.
There may be a some other causes such as clutch switch , or the connection on the ECU.
As the engine doesn't start, I move the stand up and down several times, and clutch also. jump on the seat :) . And at the end after a few prayers,  ıt starts for the sake of god.. :)
But I dont know where to start inspecting.

Regards,

Mithat

Do you use the kill-off switch?

The side stand switch would not stop the bike from starting as long as it was in neutral.

If you only have problems starting the bike and there is not a problem with the bike stopping once it is running I don't think it can be any of the things you mention.

It sounds more like a problem with the HISS system (either the chip in the key or the antennae round the switch) or the crank position sensor.

No I don't use the kill switch. Furthermore I never use it. Maybe there may be a contact corrosion issue over there..
I will check the HISS system, at least try the other key  first.
By the way ,where can I find the wiring diagram of 2011 Dero.

Thanks, you have enlighted me .

You can download the Service manual for the 2003-2006 models, which contains electric diagrams. I hope you find it helpful... I don't know if the downloads are still available in the links below (they come from the old forum)
