cooling system hoses
« on: October 01, 2017, 17:22:11 »
I have 2008 varadero. Noticed the other day coolant on the skid plate and floor.  Traced the problem back to a small 5" hose running from the stat to the the front cylinder head.  Called Honda, they inform me that hose (along with the rest of them) are discontinued. They suggest ebay. Of course i couldn't find anything.  Has anyone else had this problem? I tightened the clamps which stopped the leak, but the hose looked a little worse for wear an I'd like to replace it.

Shows the part to be "19528-MBT-000"

A quick search with google or Yahoo show plenty of people still claiming to be able to supply this part.

Look a little closer. I tried those sites. They source from honda direct. They indicate "contact". Which means "they no got".

27.50 Euros for shipping to Canada, more than 3 times the price of the hose!

At the end of the day its just a hose.

Find a friendly shop (car, bike, tractor or ? ) with a bit parts store, take to old one in and ask them if they have anything similar.

You can use whatever hose with the right dimensions in thickness and diameter.
Use a heat gun to curve it like you would.
