Sweden to Sweden 2017
« on: June 30, 2017, 16:17:44 »
Ok, time to plan my trip for 2017.

My plan this year is to drive nearest/fastest road to Trafoi and do the:
Stelvio pass and Umbrailpass.
Furkapass, Grimselpass and Sustenpass.
Road between Luzern and Basel.
Head up to Schwarzwald and drive road 500 between Freudenstadt and Baden-Baden.
And then home.

So now I am asking you all to help me. Is this "the best" road/plan?
What am I missing?

Nice choices, you can perhaps add Simplon ... and St Gotthar  VCIF_ThumbUp

If you go through the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) there are smaller and more interesting roads available.
The B500 is overwatched by our "racecontroll" and often only 70 km/h are allowed.
But at the end its not as expensive as in Sweden to be quicker  ;).

If you need a coffee or ... after the Black Forest in the area of Karlsruhe let me know.

Have a nice trip

We made today Albula pass (there was fresh snow!) to Furka... Grimsel is next to Furka! How much time you have?

@Jyrays. Most likely 9 days, but it could be more.

@meine dicke. Please sugest alternativ roads to B500.

@zebulon. I will look in to Simplon and St Gottard.

I have send you a Email with a gpx-file from Airolo (south of St. Gotthard) via Tremola (old paved pass-route) then along the Vierwaldstätter-Lake (CH) and Zürich-Lake (CH) to the Rheinfalls (German-Swisserland-Border). Then to the Schluchsee (Black Forest [BF]) over the Feldberg (highest pic in the BF) to the Titisee (BF), Glashütte (BF, very small road) to Triberg (BF, biggest Kuckucks-watch of the world, waterfalls) through some beautiful valleys to Wolfach and Freudenstadt. Down the Murg-Valley to Forbach and then via Loffenau a curvey road to Marxzell (private Motorcycle and old automotive museum). The end will be my home, if you want, I am available and if you announce yourself.

Greetings from the South of Germany

What about Tremola - St. Gotthard Pass.
I read that the road have cobblestone. Is it hard/difficult to ride?
Shall I avoid it?
