Itīs the old pass. If itīs wet you have to pay attention, but itīs worth taking this road. But nearby you have both a highway and a bigger road.

As said by Rainer, but it is a must; if you have a pillion, perhaps he/she doesn't appreciate so much  ;D

"Is this "the best" road/plan?"

In my opinion it's very nice plan. Switzerland is really beautiful! (Italy with Dolomites too!)
I wish you will have sunny days or at least days with no rain! Enjoy, have fun and ride safe!
... And after the ride - put the story on the forum...  ;)

Here are my finale? plan.
I will be driving the route counterclockwise.
When in Croatia I stop for 7-12 days for some sun and swimming  8)
In total it will be 4500km.

Hey, that's quite a new plan! If you go to Slovenia again... Then... Ah, I'll just say that there, around Ilirska Bistrica, Postojna, Lipica, are nice roads too! ;)

Enjoy the Croatia beach! But keep in mind that "all" Slovenians are there... And in August also all Italians and Germans...
So, keep in mind that it's better to have a reservation where you'll planing to stay in Croatia. Two years ago we had problems to find a place even in a camp!

Ok, now I changed my plans again  ;D
I will go clockwise because it will be easier to plan my arrival to Porec, Croatia.
As Ursula stated, it is necessary to make reservation from a room, which I have.

Rainer, I will get in touch when I am near Karlsruhe.

I am leaving Sweden monday night by ferry to Rostock.
